Luckily for you, the devs were kind enough to add Free Play which caters for a more casual experience. If you cannot work in shifts, plan your salvage in shifts and work profitably, then you are just not playing the game as intended. Remember, this is a game about being a worker paying off a debt by salvaging, not a limitless sandbox with no restrictions or restraints. If you remove the timer, you remove shifts and thus you remove a core mechanic of the game - working towards paying off your debt and having consequences for salvaging poorly. The point of the game is to plan your shifts to make as much money as possible. In terms of gameplay design, this gives a framework for which you can work around to salvage profitably - haul in more than 500k in salvage per shift to decrease your debt. The restock is one thing, but it also allows Lynx the chance to charge you rental costs on your equipment. Just let us repair the tools at the console like we can restock everything else and charge the fees every 15 minutes so it doesn't jarringly take you out of your gameplay. Originally posted by Zyrenica:If the timer is there just to interrupt your gameplay so you can 'repair' the tools and restock stuff then its also a bad mechanic. If they need to ignore it it shouldn't be there in the first place. Honestly too many people are too focused on the timer and just need to ignore it. You can take an infinite number of shifts on one ship and all it will do is increase your debt by 500k a tick (which is nothing because you can easily make 2m+ per 15 minutes). The reason the 15 minute shift is there isn't really for difficulty, it's to let you buy things, upgrade, repair, and restock. It isn't exactly fundametal to the game either. If there's even an argument about this, which is basically the main talking point of the game right now, it's clear that a lot of people don't like it. At the very least it could be implemented as part of the difficulty, as for examples the clones are. Right now the rigid 15 minute timer is meaningless and annoying.

The only way you lose money is by those 500k you lose per shift. The debt thing isn't even implemented very well, there's like zero penalty for blowing up 30 million credits worth of salvage. Originally posted by Gabol:It's a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ game.
